Marble Countertops

Marble is a type of limestone that comes from sea beds that have been crystallized by heat and pressure. Marble is mostly made of calcium and dolomite. The color differences are due to varying chemicals that are in the sea beds where the marble is formed. The veining in this stone is created when the sea bed moves due to heat and pressure, which cause some of the components to be squeezed out. The beautiful stone is softer than granite and is not generally recommended for kitchens. However, it is widely used in bath areas. To view samples, visit our supplier’s websites: Georgia Stone, Stone Showcase, or GK Granite.
